Are You Sure You Have Backups?

Once upon a time, it was common for most web hosting companies to perform nightly backups.  I’ve noticed a tread: What used to be nightly backups in many cases is now weekly.  One of the best-known hosting companies has made nightly backups an option available through a third party – My experience with that third party is that the backup system is not very robust.

And then there is the recent case of a web hosting company who only thought they were doing backups. When one of their web servers failed there were no files to restore. Several of its customers completely lost their websites.

This is why our services include nightly backups independent of whatever your web hosting company does.  Backups are encrypted and stored in two separate repositories.

Backups provided by your hosting company should be your resource of first resort in the event of a failure because the restore process is very quick.  In the event that fails however, we have our customers covered.
