Website Overwatch Package of Services
WordPress Updates
When a new version of WordPress, one of your plugins, or your theme is released we install the update on your website. We maintain a clone of your website and test all updates on the clone before installing them on your production website.
Anti-Hacking
A web application firewall is installed and configured so that ALL of your website’s traffic runs through it. Traffic from known bad actors, known attack vectors, and Denial-of-Service attempts are filtered out and never reach your website. The firewall and your website traffic are also checked daily for suspicious activity by a human. Suspicious IP addresses are locked out.
All login attempts are monitored. All login attempts from non-USA locations are disallowed. If your operation can accommodate it, only logins from specified IP addresses are allowed, and ANY attempt to access ANY files in the wp-admin directory by other IP addresses is locked out.
Your website is scanned weekly by two independent scanners, looking for malware and vulnerabilities.
All website files are scanned daily.
Integrity
Your website is backed up nightly. Two copies of the backup are stored in separate offsite repositories. All offsite backups are encrypted
Monitor Domain Name & Hosting Account for Expiration
We monitor the expiration date of your domain name and remind you to renew it. If you give us access to your Domain Name Registrar (such as GoDaddy) we will renew it for you.
We monitor your web hosting account and the expiration date of any credit cards you have stored there so that your hosting company doesn’t terminate your website due to non-payment.
Spam Comments
During our daily check of your website we delete any comments marked as SPAM.
Google Analytics
We monitor your backlinks to make sure a competitor is not trying to get your website blacklisted. We provide you with a monthly report of the most significant activity as recorded by Google Analytics.
Downtime Detection
Your website is checked every 5 minutes to verify that it is up.
Support
Many website maintenance activities are included. For example, if you want a new page and provide us with the content we’ll do that. Short of content creation (text or graphics) or a website redesign, we’ll do it.
Quick Support Requests
Quick-Support Requests are there to help with those little questions that come up from time to time. They can include single questions or tasks, such as asking for a plugin recommendation, uploading a file to your server, tweaking a font size or other style setting, moving or adjusting widgets, and so on. (Quick Support Requests shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes to complete. They’re supposed to be quick, after all!).
Thank you so much for helping with everything.
I have worked with many webmasters before and I have never seen someone as helpful and thorough as you.

Panama Papers
The website of Panamanian lawyer Mossack Fonseca was hacked. 11.5 million confidential documents that provide detailed information about more than 214,000 offshore companies – including the identities of shareholders and directors – was made public and made front-page news in every major newspaper in the world.
The documents show how wealthy individuals, including public officials, hide their money from public scrutiny. At the time of publication, the papers identifieded five then-heads of state or government leaders from Argentina, Iceland, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, and the United Arab Emirates; as well as government officials, close relatives, and close associates of various heads of government of more than forty other countries, including Brazil, China, France, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Syria, and the United Kingdom.
Iceland’s Prime Minister has resigned. Britain’s Prime Minister is having to explain how his family is connected to it. The names of hundreds of Americans have surfaced in the Panama Papers.
Post-mortem analysis found that the hackers got in via a well-known vulnerability in an out-of-date version of a popular WordPress plugin named “Slider Revolution”. The plugin’s authors updated the plugin two years ago and eliminated the vulnerability, but the newer version was never installed on the ‘target’ website.
